Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.
City officials said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking representative stated the attack made him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
